It is amazing how generous the people in our community are! We were blown away this morning (Friday 30th Oct) when a Chittaway Bay resident, Kim, donated $800 to Hills’ Angels. Kim was in need of new tyres and registration for her car so a submission was made to the Star FM Pay Your Bills competition. Kim was selected as a winner. When Kim was notified that she was a winner she said she could not accept the prize and would like to donate the money to Hills’ Angels.
Being Mum’s ourselves and knowing how hard it would be for Kim to get tyres for her car so close to Christmas we felt we couldn’t accept her generous offer, but also realised that we had to honour her wishes. So we gratefully took her money and got to work trying to return the good deed. We spoke to another amazing sponsor of ours, Headway Auto Repairs at Charmhaven. Chris had already donated two car services for us to use as prizes, we tried to exchange one of the vouchers for new tyres for Kim, Chris wouldn’t hear of it, he wanted to donate four tyres to Kim, and for us to keep the two car services for our charity night. We are extremely grateful for Chris’ generosity and for him allowing us to repay Kim’s good deed.
The good people of Preston’s Custom Framing also generously offered to frame the signed 100 Years of Rugby League Wests Tigers jersey, donated by Allied Express, for no cost. They have also offered to frame three other jerseys for us to auction at cost price.
